How do you know your networking is actually working for you? Do you keep track of the returns you get from your activities? When was the last time you reviewed what return you were getting from the networking activities you do.

With so many networking events going on all around us these days it can be really easy to fall into the busy fool trap of just attending all of them desperately looking for that great contact. Like most things in life effective networking is a skill and as such should be given the attention it deserves.

Here are ten actions to do to review the effectiveness of your networking actvities.

  1. How many key relationships have you generated from the events you attend? Are they worth your time and investment?
  2. Do your target market clients attend and are they interested in connecting with you?
  3. Do you follow up effectively?
  4. How many follow up one to ones have you had as a result of attending your events?
  5. If its a structured event where referrals are passed, how many have you given and received?
  6. How much business has each event you attended generated?
  7. How does the group demonstrate each others commitment to each other?
  8. Can you effectively describe what you do in a way people understand and can engage with?
  9. When was the last time you invited a client to your event to help them get more connections and business too?
  10. If you stopped attending would your business suffer?

Networking like any other business activity should be reviewed regularly to make sure it is still an effective us of a businesses time and resources.

At Asentiv networking reviews are a regular part of how we support our clients, if you would like a free review of your own networking activity then please drop me a line and lets talk.
