When was the last time you completed an image triage on your business? Image and brand are so important as they portray whats important to us, and how we operate and show our values to the World.
An image triage is all about taking a step back and reviewing all aspects of your business. Not just your social media, website and branding, but your communication both internally and externally, as well as how you interact with your clients, your suppliers and even your staff.
The starting point for an image triage is to ask yourself, “what do I want people to think when they hear my name or my companies name?”. Do you want to be seen as professional, efficient, timely, groundbreaking, offering great value, being customer centric? What are the first things you want people to see, know or feel when they hear your business/personal name?
The next thing to do is to identify what these traits mean to you. For example if you want people to think professional when they think of you, what does professional look like? Is it the way you or your team answer the phone, the type of email sent, the look of the website, the way your team act? Its important you spend some time reviewing all of your business practices. Doing this makes sure you are operating in a way thats important to you and inline with what you want your clients and potential clients think about you and your company.
Once you’ve reviewed what “being professional” looks like ask your self, “what parts of my business are demonstrating “being professional” and which parts are not?” Once you have done this and you have identified the gaps you then ask yourself, “what has to happen to improve the areas that currently don’t meet the image triage standard I desire?”
If we take professional as can example does you phone strategy need to be better, or do you have an email address that is a hotmail or google address? What about how you dress, or post on social media etc, does everything point to professional?
Finally once you have completed the triage work out what actions you need to take to improve the areas identified, give them a cost and a timescale and set about the required improvements.
Completing an image triage on a regular basis is an important step in aligning the operation of your business with the image you want your clients and potential clients to be attracted to.
Completing an image triage session with my clients is one of my favourite sessions as we really support them in getting to grips with what they are about and how we can help them get that message out to the right target market clients for them.
To your success
